'A Best Interests Meeting & Advance Care Planning' Films DVD bundle
Best Interests decision-making is an integral part of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) legislation. Best Interests decisions only take place when an individual has been assessed as not having the capacity to make a specific decision himself or herself. There is often uncertainty about how to go about conducting a Best Interests meeting and/or who to involve. This film aims to break down the process into clear steps and offer a meeting template to accurately record the discussion and Best Interests decision outcome.
The Advance Care Planning DVD contains three different, short care home based films involving staff, residents and a relative. They are designed to support training sessions looking at effective communication skills and/or advance care planning conversations. All three clips focus on highlighting the many different opportunities there are to introduce conversation about future wishes or, the more formal, advance care planning.
