'Open to all? Meeting the need of lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people nearing the end of life' Report
With more than 3.7 million LGB people and at least 12,500 trans people in the UK, and approximately 22,200 LGB&T people dying every year, it is important that these communities' needs are explored and any gaps in provision addressed.
This document represents the findings of a short survey we carried out to provide an indication of what further work was needed. It is our hope that this work represents the beginning of more common-place conversations about how both sides can help ensure LGB&T people and their carers are confident accessing the palliative services they need as they near the end of life.
